Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. In the school, she focused on journalism and woman's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin for a while in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also contained songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was an additional project. With musician and author on her resume she began looking for acting in a third project. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
